This is the entire Earth in Minecraft, at 1:1 scale – now modders want to get ambitious - wilsonwhath1967

Minecraft lets you build anything, so why non the entire Earth, at real-life scale? That's exactly the visualise YouTuber PippenFTS has conjointly, with the serve of some mods to open frame Minecraft's limitations and pull in real-life satellite data. But that's only the first step in that incredible task – at present it's clock for players to build wholly the world's cities, too.

The project uses two mods. The first is Terra 1-to-1, which pulls in information from sources like Google Maps to convert Dry land data into Minecraft maps. The other is Cubic Chunks, which reformats Minecraft's correspondenc layouts to remove the height limit for blocks – which lets mountains and valleys exist at their proper high.

But that's just the process of existing Minecraft mods – PippenFTS wants to get much bigger with a project titled Build the Earth. Terra 1-to-1 alone brings in natural geological features – not human architecture – so Build the Earth is an exploit to bestow together a network of players to remodel every building on the planet by hand.

It seems impossibly ambitious, but the video announcing the project (via Eurogamer) now has 5 jillio views, and the Discordance where builders are organising is nowadays nearly 40,000 members strong. Members are set to build up cities in chunks on local anaesthetic that maps that leave be stitched together into the full planet.
